It is not known when the Gran Sabana was occupied for the first time, but the chronicles (1785) of the first Europeans that entered in this territories talked of the Pemon Indians occupying the land that today is called La Gran Sabana.

It is a plateau of about eighteen thousand square kilometers, limiting in the north with the mountain of Lema and in the south with the mountain of Pakaraima, in the borderline with Brazil to the east with the high basin of the rivers Kamoiran and Mazaruni and the tepuyes mountain range of with the Roraima is part, and for the west with the Karuay river. The difference of altitude varies from the north to south, with the mountain of Lema to a thousand four hundred meters and Santa Elena in the borderline with Brazil to eight hundred meters above the level of the sea.

The Sabana won´t put you limits, unless you attack her. Further on the National Park, in what it´s called South Gran Sabana, traveling roads that cross beautiful forests and a tepui that, according to the legend was opened up in two by the
cristal ball of the abductor of an Indian princess, are Paratepui and it´s puddle Anaconda.
